.How to reach the other unreached 5 billion
people? Digital divides widen
as
technology advances.
These
guys may not have broadband. May not even have a
decent computer. Maybe they do have a
community computer and a slow dial up?
How do you continuously provide multimedia contents to them
on slow dial ups in seconds?
A good initiative for

"The
bad news is
that the
world is not
on course
for
achieving
the
international
development
target of
universal
primary
education by
2015."
UNESCO's
reports
"Deep-rooted
inequalities
persist in
education,
condemning
millions of
children in the
world to
diminished
opportunity and
even to poverty.
This is one
conclusion of
the 2009
Education For
All Global
Monitoring Report,“Overcoming
inequality: why
governance
matters”, which
will be released
on 25 November
in Geneva
(Switzerland).
Despite the
effort made by
some of the
planet’s poorest
countries to
improve access
to education,
inequalities are
still entrenched
around the
globe. At the
same time,
international
aid for
education is in
danger of
decreasing due
to the current
financial
crisis, the
report warns. "
"The Fast Track
Initiative, a
multilateral aid
framework for
supporting
education for
all, is not
meeting
expectations,
the report
argues.
Inadequate donor
support means
that countries
with approved
plans will face
an FTI shortfall
of US$2.2
billion by 2010.
"
UNESCO's reports
Why is this
happening?
Failures of
technology?
Even FTI is not
working!
How can you use
a rich man's
tools to reach a
poor man? CDs
and flash
broadbands are
rich men's
tools! If only
these guys know
it is not the
money, but the
technology that
fails. No matter
how much money
you spend, the
result would be
the same-
failure.
Is it
a wonder that
UNESCO's EFA by 2015 may fail?
